Most people live in pretty basic tract homes that are built by high volume production builders without much design or character… at least compared to what we see on the home shows on TV! This is all well and good if that doesn’t matter to you, but a lot of people would like to spruce things up and add some charm to their builder-basic home. One very easy way to do this is by casing your windows and doorways with some nice trim and moulding. This little bit of detail adds so much to the room and is relatively easy and inexpensive to do.
You can see the before and after in the picture below and just how much of a difference it makes. With some very basic tools like a chop saw, nail gun, and a tape measure, you could enhance your home in a single weekend. There are tutorials all over YouTube and Pinterest, but if you would like to take this kind of project on and need some guidance, give me a call and I’d be happy to walk you through it.
I have cased many windows and doors in the projects I’ve done over the years and can assure you that anyone can do it. Or, if you want the look without having to do the work, we can help you find a great contractor to make it happen for you 🙂
Stay tuned this year for your monthly home improvement tips, and if you’re interested, please follow me on Facebook or Instagram where I’ll be posting regular updates of the projects I’m working on and exciting news to follow!
